2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia

Full-size SUVs are a popular choice for many people looking for their next vehicle. However, there are so many options available on the market that it’s sometimes hard to know which one to get. Below, we’ll compare two of the more popular models, the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe and the 2023 Toyota Sequoia, to help you see if one is right for you.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Performance
Let’s start by looking at the performance specs for these two SUVs. Under the hood of the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe you can get one of three engine options. The standard option is a 5.3-liter engine that produces 355 horsepower. Other options include a 6.2-liter engine that produces 420 horsepower and a diesel engine that produces 277 horsepower. While the diesel engine has the lower horsepower, it also has the best torque at 460 lb-ft. Each of these engines combines with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either RWD or AWD.
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is a little different. In this SUV, you’ll get the iForce MAX hybrid powertrain. With this powertrain, you get a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6 engine, along with an electric motor that combines to produce 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. As with the Tahoe, each model comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either RWD or AWD.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Fuel-Efficiency
The fuel-efficiency of the Chevy Tahoe depends on which powertrain you select. The most fuel-efficient version is the diesel engine, which has a rating of 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. With the other two engines, expect to get around 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
Since the Toyota Sequoia is a hybrid vehicle, you can expect pretty good fuel efficiency. With a rear-wheel drive model, the EPA rates this Toyota at 21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. For the four-wheel drive version, this changes to 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. This makes the Toyota Sequoia more fuel-efficient than the standard Chevrolet Tahoe model but less efficient than its diesel version.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Interior Space And Comfort
Moving inside, the Chevrolet Tahoe offers a spacious interior that’s sure to please owners that typically have a lot of passengers. There are three rows of seats in this large SUV, the second of which you can adjust by sliding to give more room for adults wherever they’re sitting. There’s also plenty of cargo space, with a maximum rating of 123 cubic feet when you fold down the rear seats. All the seats come in a comfortable upholstery, and there are comfort features like climate control and heated seats.
The Toyota Sequoia offers a similar interior cabin. It’s spacious and has three rows of seats. With the second row, you can get either a bench or captain’s chairs, depending on your preference. One of the downsides of the Toyota Sequoia is the lack of headroom in the rear seats, especially for taller passengers. However, the rest of the Toyota Sequoia interior is pleasant, with comfortable materials throughout, with the option to add more luxurious elements like leather upholstery on more premium trims.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Entertainment
A great feature of both these SUVs is the entertainment setup. Inside the 2023 Tahoe, there’s a 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. This makes it easy to load your favorite music and navigation apps directly into your vehicle and play your favorite audio through the Bose stereo system. There’s also an optional rear-seat entertainment system for occupying back passengers on longer drives.
With the 2023 Sequoia, you’ll get a 14-inch touchscreen on all trims except the base model. This infotainment system comes with features like smartphone-mirroring, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. However, there is no option to add similar entertainment options to the rear seats.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Safety
Finally, both the Tahoe and the Sequoia come packed with some of the latest safety features. With the Tahoe, you can get GM’s Super Cruise system, which is a hands-free driving feature. Inside both vehicles, standard safety features include:
- Forward collision warning
- Automated emergency braking
- Lane departure warning
- Lane-keeping assist
The biggest difference is that the Sequoia offers adaptive cruise control as a standard feature, while this is an available addition for the Tahoe. Otherwise, these two vehicles are very similar in terms of safety features, so you should feel safe in either one.
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Vs 2023 Toyota Sequoia: Trims And MSRPs
A big factor when deciding which SUV to get is the price. Below are the available trims for each model, along with their respective starting MSRPs:
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LS: $52,500
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LT: $58,000
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST: $61,500
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71: $63,500
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier: $66,300
- 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country: $73,100
And for the Sequoia, the options are:
- 2023 Toyota Sequoia SR5: $58,300
- 2023 Toyota Sequoia Limited: $66,195
- 2023 Toyota Sequoia Platinum:$72,395
- 2023 Toyota Sequoia Capstone: $76,795
- 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro: $78,395
Which Vehicle Is Right For You?
Which vehicle you prefer depends on your needs. For example, if you want the SUV with the most interior space, you’ll prefer the Tahoe with its 178 cubic feet of passenger space compared to the 156 cubic feet of the Sequoia. The Tahoe also comes out ahead if you want features like hands-free driving or a rear entertainment system, along with generally lower MSRPs. On the other hand, if you’d rather get an SUV with more horsepower or that’s a little more fuel-efficient, then you might prefer the Sequoia.

Commonly dubbed “Coca-Cola” on account of its familiar shape, the Chevrolet Suburban is one of the longest-running vehicles in automotive history. It dates back to 1935 and remains a top contender in the family-hauling category. Currently in its 12th generation, the 2023 Suburban boasts plenty of new features and upgrades that put it a cut above the competition.
This behemoth, full-size SUV can haul a family in comfort and all their gear and still have room to spare — making it the perfect vehicle for road trips and family vacations. In this review, we’ll take an in-depth look at what the 2023 Suburban has to offer, including its towing capacity, cargo space, and performance specs. Stay tuned.
Engine, Performance, And Transmission
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of towing capacity and cargo space, it’s worth taking a sneak peek under the hood of the 2023 Suburban. Drivers in Savannah, Georgia, will have three engine options: a 5.3L V-8, a 6.2L V-8, and a 3.0L turbo-diesel engine. The 5.3L V-8 is the default engine on all but the top-of-the-line High Country trim, which comes standard with the more powerful and capable 6.2L V-8.
The smaller of the two V-8 options is good for 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the larger engine provides 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Diesel engine lovers will be glad to know that the available turbo-diesel engine is an all-new offering for the 2023 model year. This powerplant is a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
As for the transmission, all three engines are mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. This transmission has been expertly calibrated to work in harmony with the SUV’s various engine options, providing a smooth and seamless driving experience no matter which engine you choose. The 2023 Suburban is also available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, giving you the option to tailor your SUV to your specific needs.
Whether you’re sticking with rear-wheel drive or opting for the added traction of four-wheel drive, you’ll be glad to know that the 2023 Suburban comes standard with Chevrolet’s excellent Traction Select System. This system allows you to adjust your SUV’s drive settings to match the current road conditions.
Towing Capacity, Cargo Space, And Payload
Now that we know a little bit about what’s going on under the hood, let’s talk about what we’ve all been waiting for.
When equipped with the available Max Trailering package, the rear-wheel-drive 5.3L V-8 Suburban boasts a best-in-class towing capacity of 8,300 pounds. There is a slight drop of 200 pounds if you opt for the four-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the lowest towing capacity you’ll find on a 2023 Suburban is 7,800 pounds — if you choose the four-wheel drive 6.2L V-8 engine. However, you can bump that up to 8,000 pounds by choosing the rear-wheel drive version of the same engine option with the Max Trailering package.
The rear-wheel drive 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine is the second most capable in towing. It offers a maximum towing capacity of 8,200 pounds when equipped with the Max Trailering package. Nevertheless, that plunges to 7,800 pounds if you go with the four-wheel drive diesel engine. As per the figures, it’s clear that if you’re planning on doing any serious towing, you’ll want to stick with the rear-wheel drive version of the gas-powered 5.3L V-8 or the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. Both powertrains offer best-in-class towing capacity and can easily tow most boats, trailers, and RVs with ease.
Towing accessories available on the 2023 Suburban include a trailering camera system, which gives you a clear view of what’s behind you when you’re hauling a trailer. This system includes a rearview camera and two side-view cameras. A trailer sway control system also helps keep your trailer in line, even on windy days. Hitch Guidance is now standard on all Suburbans, and it uses sensors to guide you into proper alignment with your trailer’s hitch. This system makes hitching up a trailer a breeze, even if you’re doing it yourself.
And for those times when you need to do a little off-roading, the 2023 Suburban comes standard with Hill Descent Control. This system automatically applies the brakes and adjusts the throttle to help you safely navigate down steep grades. Finally, the 2023 Suburban comes with Trailer Brake Controller as standard, so you can rest assured knowing that your trailer will be safe and secure no matter where the road takes you.
Of course, towing capacity is only part of the equation when choosing the right SUV for your needs. You also need to consider cargo space and payload capacity. When it comes to cargo space, the 2023 Suburban once again doesn’t disappoint. This SUV offers a whopping 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space with all seats folded down. And, even with all seats in place, you’ll still have plenty of room to work with, thanks to the Suburban’s 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
It’s not just the interior of this SUV that’s boxy and spacious; the 2023 Suburban also offers a large and capable payload. It can handle up to 1,750 pounds of payload, which is more than enough for most families’ needs.
Fuel Economy And Real-World MPG
It wouldn’t be a complete overview of the 2023 Suburban if we didn’t talk about fuel economy and real-world mpg. After all, even the biggest and most capable SUVs need to be able to go the distance without breaking the bank at the pump.
Fortunately, the 2023 Suburban is surprisingly fuel-efficient for its size. This available diesel engine is the most efficient, returning an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. But even the gas-powered engines are pretty fuel efficient. The 2023 Suburban’s 5.3L V-8 engine gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Not too shabby for an SUV that can tow up to 8,300 pounds. Last but not least, the thirstier 6.2L V-8 engine manages to get an EPA-estimated 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
If you’re in the market for a large and capable SUV, the 2023 Chevrolet Suburban should definitely be on your radar. Vaden Chevrolet Savannah will be among the first dealerships to receive the all-new Suburban, so be sure to check back often or contact us for more information. Here’s our guide for what to do in Savannah this Halloween.
What To Do This Halloween In Savannah
Savannah can be a spooky place when it’s illuminated with a thousand pumpkin faces and phantoms running about looking for candy and a bit of mischief. But despite all the scares, the city offers some great activities for families and adults that you can enjoy over and over each year. Take a look at these few examples:
Take A Blue Orb Ghost Tour
There’s nothing more terrifying than prowling the streets of Savannah in the dead of night on All Hallow’s Eve, searching for the real ghosts of the reverent dead. If you’re looking for the best, you’ve found it, because the Blue Orb Ghost Tour is one of the top ten ghost tours in the entire world. Offered to those 18 years of age and older, this one-of-a-kind spooky experience pits your bravery against the scary specters of Savannah’s deep, rich history. Enjoy a two-hour zombie tour for adults only, a 90-minute family-friendly ghost tour, or a private ghost tour.
Get Your Fill At The Annual Vampire Ball
Calling all creatures of the night, it’s time to gather at the annual Vampire Ball hosted by Markster Con for one evening only on Oct. 16, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Georgia’s oldest city is sure to bring out the real vampires with this stunning, festive, and fun one-of-a-kind activity. Enjoy the Ghost Coast Distillery’s impressive menu of drinks and appetizers while you mingle with your fellow vampires and compare stories of blood-sucking adventures. This is an adult-only event, and all participants must be over 21 to enjoy it.
Crawl The City With The Nightmare On Congress Street Bar Crawl
If you’re more of a festive bar crawler than a ghost hunter or veracious vampire, you’re in luck — there’s a special event made just for you, called the Nightmare on Congress Street Bar Crawl. Enjoy some of Savannah’s best spots with this impressive crawl, featuring several stops, a costume contest, and, of course, a grand prize for the best costume totaling $2,000. Costumers enjoy transportation services so you won’t have to worry about a designated driver, and each stop is hand-picked for a wicked fun time. Don’t forget your friends on this one.
Enjoy Filmmaking With The Savannah Film Festival
At the end of this October, the Lucas Theater is offering one of the most harrowing and truly frightening film experiences to ever grace the screen. The classic horror film, “Nosferatu,” filmed in 1922, is the attraction for the night. This is the oldest surviving film depiction of Bram Stoker’s classic monster, “Dracula,” the first vampire, and is something to behold. It’s a silent film, but don’t let the lack of sound production and modern film tricks deceive you. This is a film you’ll want to see, and the Lucas Theater is the place to see it in comfort at a renowned film festival.
Run The Miles At The Trick Or Trot 5K
If you’re more of an active Halloween enthusiast, you might want to participate in the Trick or Trot 5K race to support local charities. This family-friendly event typically takes place in mid-October, with the exact date for 2022 to be announced. Bring the kids and your costumes for two different races, the 5K and the 10K.
Visit The Marshall House
Haunted houses are a classic Halloween attraction, and we’re not talking the jump scare types, either. The Marshall House is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in Savannah, and just a look at this 19th-century home can send chills down even the bravest ghost hunter’s spine. A civil war icon, this house is said to be home to several civil war-era phantoms, including Union soldiers walking in the afterlife still in their uniforms, and a woman who seems to be stuck in one of the bathroom stalls in the home.
Cruise The City In A Hearse Tour
Ever wanted to know what the deceased feel like riding around in a hearse? Now you can, with the added benefit of perhaps meeting some of the decease in a hearse ghost tour. Load up the family and friends in an old hearse modified for group travel to explore some of Savannah’s most haunted spots. The hearse just seems to give these tours an extra bit of spookiness the other tours simply can’t replicate. You’ll be awed and amazed not only by the tour, but the cost, which is less than $15 for children and closer to $20 for adults.
Party It Up At Moon River Brewing Company
The Moon River Brewing Company is a notoriously haunted building in Savannah, with a rich history and plenty of phantoms to scare your socks off. Enjoy some of the city’s best brews while you experience a ghostly presence that’ll leave you shaking and eager for more. The building was first erected in 1821, and has a dark and violent history that some believe contributed to its ghost population today.
Drift Through The Haunted Forest At Savannah Moose Lodge
A haunted forest seems to bring its own brand of creepiness to the Halloween holiday, and now you can enjoy a guided haunted forest tour at the Savannah Moose Lodge. Enjoy brews and food to satisfy any taste, then take to the haunted trails and trees of the forest, which is consistently rated as one of the city’s best scary experiences. Plus, you’ll be contributing to a good cause, as all profits go directly to the local children’s hospital.
Spooky time isn’t all about haunted houses and specters, it’s about savings, too! If you’re in the market for a new or pre-owned vehicle, book an appointment today or complete our pre-qualification page to get the funding you need. We’re open Monday through Saturday.

2022 Chevrolet Spark Fuel Economy
The Spark’s fuel economy depends on whether you get a manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT is an affordable upgrade and helps the 2022 Spark get 30 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. If you prefer the feel of a manual transmission, or if you just want the standard option, you can rest assured that it won’t affect the efficiency much. The estimated ratings for the manual transmission are 29 city mpg and 38 highway mpg.
The reason for the difference is that the CVT manages lower power ratios in city traffic with less energy. In either case, these fuel ratings are quite strong. Overall, the Spark is a little car that provides pretty big gasoline fuel economy numbers and an exciting performance. The question of how fuel-efficient the Spark is should be tempered with its size and weight. Compared to other gasoline vehicles of comparable size and power, the Spark is one of the most fuel-efficient cars of its type.
2022 Chevrolet Spark Engine
All 2022 Spark models come standard with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque. The base model has a front-wheel-drive system and a five-speed manual transmission. With an average acceleration time of 11 seconds from zero to 60 mph, the 2022 Spark remains decently quick and can be comfortably driven in both city and highway environments. The available CVT transmission provides a more gradual style of shifting that some drivers prefer, and as noted, it even increases the city mpg rating to 30.
2022 Chevrolet Spark Handling And Performance
Savvy drivers will note the Spark’s confident and agile handling, helping deliver necessary power for turns and other maneuvers. The hatchback has sharp steering and is easy to turn, but it doesn’t end up feeling too lightweight either, which is a great balance in a subcompact car. Like most vehicles of its type, the 2022 Chevrolet Spark performs best in a dense city environment. It also has a taut suspension that helps stabilize the wheels during turns and provides shock absorption when driving on rough terrain, enhanced further on the ACTIV trim with all-wheel drive.
2022 Chevrolet Spark Gas Tank Size And Range
The Spark is great for both cruising through cities, taking impromptu detours to a new restaurant, and going on longer family trips. The Chevrolet hatchback has a 9-gallon gas tank, leading to a potential range of more than 340 miles from full to empty. With the average number of miles driven per week in the United States being 260, the Spark can carry you through your busy schedule.
How To Get Better Gas Mileage With A Chevrolet Spark
The Spark’s 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine manages to launch the car off the ground with surprising ease and has enough thrust to keep up with city traffic. Getting 30 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway is a nice bonus, but if you want to be sure you’re really saving as much on fuel as you think, improving your fuel efficiency is fairly simple. Here are some important factors to check:
- Consult your owner’s manual to make sure you’re following the proper maintenance schedule.
- Ride alone when possible, and don’t burden your Chevrolet Spark with heavy equipment you could store at home.
- Save grocery shopping, road trips, and similar tasks for a larger model.
- Uninstall any Chevrolet accessories attached to the exterior, such as bicycle racks, even if they aren’t in use, to minimize wind resistance.
- Check your tire pressure weekly, and get your tires rotated and eventually replaced when necessary.
The most important tip with the 2022 Chevrolet Spark, and any other vehicle, is to drive defensively and calmly. The more you have to brake, the more you have to expend gas to get back up to speed, so try to drive defensively and gradually. Keep an eye on your speed, and give yourself time to brake lightly. On the other side, try to accelerate gradually while keeping on pace with the traffic around you.
For one last tip to get the best possible fuel economy, don’t idle your engine for too long. For instance, if you have to wait in a parking lot for a while, turning your engine off will save gas, and you’ll still be able to keep the key turned to “on” to use the radio and other features.
